WAYS OF SEEING WAYS OF READING

Ways of Seeing Ways of Reading is a design research project that reflects on the margins as space where the actions and interpretations of readers become tangible and take shape. By adapting Ways of Seeing by John Berger to a website format – Ways of Seeing, John Berger (ft. readers) – I want to offer a contemporary reading of it based on the TV series, book and the impressions of it by readers in the LCC library; constructing a dialogue between readers and writer that functions as a never-ending collaborative project that adds content to the literary work.

(This website is still in a prototype stage).

Comments, likes and tags have become the marginalia of the internet, taking a less tangible aesthetic but allowing space for dialogue, the sharing of knowledge and responses to published material. By displaying, filtering and adding content to what they read, the web becomes an endless work in progress.
